There is one positive thing about the rich man mentioned in the Gospel reading today -- he cared and was worried about his father and brother’s salvation. He didn’t want them to end up in such a terrible place that he was sent to after his death. Today I learn that first, I need to worry about my salvation and entry into Heaven after my death; then, I need to worry and pray for the salvation of others, especially my family and friends. Also, we need to remember that the time for repentance is now, in this world, because after death it may be just too late. Let us continue to pray for our salvation but also for the salvation of others, especially those who seem to be far away from God.
