Today on the first Sunday of Advent Jesus is reminding us again about the end of times when the Son of Man will come again to this earth. We don’t know exactly when that will happen, but we know from the Gospel today that there will be prior accompanying signs. What signs? Jesus is talking about signs on the sun, moon and the earth. So, I think today we need to reflect if we even pay attention to the signs of Christ’s coming. Think about that, think about your life -- so busy with work and daily tasks, running around all the time, checking the smartphone countless times a day, or spending too much time behind the computer screen. Do you think that if the signs of Jesus’ coming will appear, will you be able to notice them, to prepare yourself to be vigilant? Sometimes we just need to stop, pray, think, and pay attention. This season of Advent is a great time to do that. “Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.”
