25 Sunday in Ordinary Time ‘c’

There are important things which we desire. They may be many kinds of things, like material things, but also a relationship or a certain job position. So, what things do you want to obtain? Let’s say you really want to buy that dreamed about summer house on the lake -- you would make sacrifices to save some money, you would try to convince your family that this is a great investment, you would try to get the best price possible and make all kinds of calculations. Or if you are applying for a well-paid job -- you would write a nice resume, try to impress others during the interview, perhaps you may even lie a little bit, just to get that job. And when it comes to a relationship with another person, perhaps you really like that girl or boy -- you would try to get her or his attention and try to present yourself as well as you can. See, sometimes we would use all our knowledge, skills, prudence, and tactics to get what we really want. But do you want to go to Heaven? We all do! So, the question is: what do we do to get there? Because if our salvation is important to us, then we would use the same skills, knowledge, wisdom, prudence, and tactics to impress our God and to be saved. “For the children of this world are more prudent in dealing with their own generation than are the children of light.”
