‘Lord, Lord, open the doors for us!’ and the Lord may say: go away, I don’t know you!
That would be very tragic if it happened to any one of us. That’s why Jesus proposed the parable today which teaches us that we need to be wise, we need to be patient and we cannot become drowsy and fall asleep. Jesus will come for sure to let us into His heavenly banquet, but we don’t know when. But what if it happens just one hour from this moment when you are reading this reflection? One hour! But it may even happen sooner… Are you ready right now? Were you wise enough and prepared yourself for this moment? Or you may be left outside knocking and weeping? Let us pray today that at that hour, Jesus will find us well prepared and ready, not sleeping.
