34 Sunday in ordinary time (Solemnity of Christ, the King of the Universe)
When I do my examination of conscience, I think about things that I have done that are wrong. I am thinking about sins I may have committed, but not very often I think about missed opportunities of doing something good. The Gospel for today has a strong reminder to all of us that God is not so much interested in the things that we have done wrong, but most of all, He is interested if we have used the opportunities that come our way to help those who are in need. Let us think today about those moments in life when we could have done something good to another person but for some reason we didn’t. And let us ask Jesus to help us recognize His presence in other people, and never miss the opportunity to help them.
