Today Jesus reminds me that He came to everyone, not only to the chosen people, not only to those who think they deserve Him, not only to sinners and those who need a physician, but He came to all the people. Sometimes that is hard to understand or even to accept. I am tempted to think at times that only Catholics deserve Jesus, that only those who pray, who try, who go to church and receive the sacraments but that those who are not a part of our church won’t be able to find Jesus. How wrong I am! In the Gospel today, Jesus is very clear: “Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For this purpose, have I come.” Jesus didn’t come only to chosen ones, and as His followers we also need to be open and accept all others.
