6 Sunday in ordinary time ‘c’

Every so often I would talk to someone who thinks that he is less blessed by God than others in life. We all tend to compare ourselves to others and think: why she is so healthy, and I have to suffer all my life with a terrible illness? Why does he have such a wonderful wife and family and we struggled to have a child? Why is he so rich and can afford everything, and I struggle with paying my bills? This is unjust, God is unjust -- we may end up thinking. Someone once told me that the more we suffer in this world, then the easier it will be for us to enter eternal life. And this is what Jesus is trying to tell us in the gospel reading for today. Blessed are you when you cry, because you will laugh. This world will come to an end, your life will come to an end, and even though you experienced so many difficulties, you will be rewarded for all of that. We just need to have faith and accept all the challenges, believing that they will be turned into everlasting joy.
