Feast of Saint Bartholomew, Apostle

We come to Jesus with our prayers, our concerns. We come to Him to tell Him about what is happening in our lives; we come to ask for His forgiveness and sometimes we try to explain to Him why we sinned or why we reacted in that particular way. This is all good and important, because we need to have good contact with our God, we need to share with Him what’s going on in our lives. However, God’s knows everything even before you come to Him. He knows why and when, He knows what happened, He knows if you are sad or happy, and He knows what you need even before you ask Him. Nathanael from today’s gospel reading expressed similar surprise asking the Master - how do you know me? Jesus knows each one of us more than we know ourselves and still loves us unconditionally. Let us thank Him for His love and mercy.
