Today the world will tell you to keep your God and your religion to yourself. Our religious symbols are being removed from public places, and so many people get offended when you speak about God, about your faith. ‘Keep it to yourself,’ they may say. And so, as a result, many of us are afraid to be Christ’s disciples in the world. We worship God in secret. We believe in His words, we believe in His resurrection, but we would rather not share this with others for fear of being laughed at or rejected. We keep Jesus for ourselves. When Jesus met Mary Magdalene right after He was raised from the dead, He said to her: “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.” To all of us today, Jesus repeats the same words -- Don’t keep me only for yourself; your call now is to proclaim that good of the resurrection to others. Go to my brothers, go to my sisters, go to everyone and tell them.
