It is not easy today to share our faith with others. How would they react to us, what would they say, what would they think? Would they believe me, would they even listen to me, or would they think that I should keep my beliefs to myself? Because of that fear, many of us keep Jesus to ourselves. We don’t want to share Him with others. Mary Magdalene, whose feast day we celebrate today, faced a similar fear. When after the resurrection she met Jesus next to the empty tomb, she didn’t want to go anywhere, she didn’t want to leave the Lord even for a second. She was afraid that she would lose Him again. But Jesus was very clear with her and He said: “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” It is not easy to go into the world and proclaim Jesus and proclaim the resurrection. But this is exactly what Jesus wants from you and me -- stop keeping Me to yourself, go and bring Me to others.
