Feast of the Chair of St. Peter, Apostle

We all know who Jesus is. However, if someone who has never heard about Him would ask you - who is Jesus? - what would your answer be? Have you ever thought about that? So, you may say for example that He is the Son of God who came to this earth over 2000 years ago, that He was born of the Virgin Mary in a poor stable, that He was proclaiming many miracles, taught with authority, and after all this He died on the cross and was raised from the dead. And nothing wrong with this kind of answer/ But would this attract your listener to become a Christian, to become a Catholic? I am not sure. See, Jesus wants you to develop a very personal relationship with Him. Knowledge of Jesus Christ and knowledge of the scriptures is not enough. I think that we would more attract others to Christ if our answer to the same question- who is Jesus- would be something like this: Jesus is my God, God that loves me more than anybody, He is always ready to forgive me even when I sin, Jesus is my Friend, He teaches me how to live and He will protect me always. With Jesus, I don’t need to worry about anything in this life. With Jesus I will live forever. I think this is the answer Jesus wants to hear from you. “He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’”
