Fifth Sunday of Lent ‘b’

Today we read in the gospel that “some Greeks who had come to worship at the Passover Feastcame to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him, ‘Sir, we would like to see Jesus.’” They came to Philip, to the one they believed was close to the Lord, and who had a good knowledge about the Lord, and gave witness about the Lord. Those Greeks had a strong desire to meet Jesus, but knowing that they couldn’t go to him directly, they asked one of Jesus’ disciples to bring them to the Lord. You and I are also Jesus’ disciples. All we do, the way we speak, we act, the way we live must be our witness to this world that we belong to God’s family. All we do must be to attract others, especially those who do not know Jesus, that we may awaken in them a desire of knowing Him, meeting Him. They may not be able to go to Jesus directly. But when they look at us, they may say: bring me to Jesus, I want to be like you. I want to be happy and joyful just like you because you know the Lord and have faith. We would like to see Jesus.
