Friday of the 29 week in ordinary time ‘b’

There will be that day when you and I will stand in front of God, and God will evaluate (or judge, if you wish) our life. Did you follow my commandments? -- He may ask; did you love God and your neighbor? Were you able to forgive others, to say ‘I am sorry’ for all the wrong things you have done? Just remember, if there is something that you need to fix or change in your life, then you must start doing it right now, because on the day of judgment it will be too late. Jesus reminds us about that urgency today in the Gospel reading, saying: “If you are to go with your opponent before a magistrate, make an effort to settle the matter on the way; otherwise your opponent will turn you over to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the constable, and the constable throw you into prison. I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.” Don’t wait, the time for making good resolutions is right now.
