Jesus said to his disciples: “This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends.” So, love is not just some kind of feeling, or these words that you say to another person ‘I love you’. True love is action; it is literally sacrificing one’s life for another person. Jesus proved that He loves us when He died on that crucifix. No, we may not be called to give or lose our life for another, but we are called to prove our love for others by getting rid of all the selfishness and be always ready to help those who are in need.
