Friday of the First Week of Advent ‘c’

Two blind men asked Jesus to open their eyes, and Jesus did what they asked for. They were able to see. However, when Jesus asked them not to tell anyone about this miracle, they didn’t listen. Instead “they went out and spread word of him through all that land.” It is hard to blame those two people for that. They must have been overjoyed because they now could see. They wanted to share that joy with others; I would probably do the same. But here is what I am learning from this gospel story - when I pray, I like to talk and Jesus listens. He always does listen to us, but am I able to listen to Him? -- listen to what He wants from me and what He is telling me? Those two blind men, after receiving what they wanted, they no longer had time to listen. They had no time to listen to Jesus speak. They ran away to tell others about what He did for them. Do you have time to listen? Do you hear what Jesus is telling you, or what He is asking you for?
