Jesus said: “if you bring your gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” So, the question for us today is - how many times do we come to mass, receive Holy Communion, but still hold some anger or grudge against another person? And I must admit that I am also guilty of that. There are people that I have argued with, people who insulted me, rejected me, people who made terrible decisions regarding our world, country, and even the Church. Those people make me very angry at times. And many times, hoding this anger in my heart, I do receive Holy Communion. Today, Jesus teaches us that whenever we come to Him, we must free ourselves from any anger and bitterness toward another person. When we approach the altar of God, we must be free from anger towards our brothers and sisters.
