Friday of the Second Week of Advent ‘b’

Jesus said: “For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they said, 'He is possessed by a demon.' The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they said, 'Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.'” Obviously, it is hard to please everybody. I know that you know that, and Jesus also knew that. No matter what Jesus did, there were always those who were suspicious of His work and kept accusing Him of performing miracles on a Sabbath. Then they would say that His power came from evil, not from God. All that Jesus did was done with Love for another person. He did it not for His own fame but because of His love for us. Don’t be surprised when you too perform Jesus’ mission today and perform good deeds for others -- because you care of them -- that some may accuse you of doing this for your own gain. We can’t please everybody, but that can’t stop us from sharing our love with others.
