Friday of the Second Week of Easter ‘b’

God doesn’t want food to be wasted. Sadly, this world is wasting so much food and at the same time many people die of hunger. It is difficult to understand this. Most of us have more than enough to eat, and it is a blessing to be able to share this food with others. Many places, including our parish, collect monthly the food that helps to feed those who are hungry and those who are less fortunate. God doesn’t want any food to be wasted. Perhaps we should think what we are buying, how much we are buying, what kind of food do we throw away and most importantly, are we able to share with those who are in need? “When they had had their fill, he said to his disciples, ‘Gather the fragments left over, so that nothing will be wasted.’”
