Friday of the Tenth week in ordinary time ‘c’

We shouldn’t be making any excuses, but unfortunately, we all sin. This is our human nature. However, we should ask ourselves how and where the sin begins. Nobody just wakes up in the morning and goes out and commits sin or does something wrong. No. The sin starts with temptation and starts in our minds first. Whatever we are tempted to do and whether we go ahead and do it, all starts in our mind. Right there, we should begin our battle with that temptation toward sin. That’s why Jesus said today: “You have heard that it was said, you shall not commit adultery. But I say to you, everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Before we start our battle with temptations -- any temptation -- we need to start the battle right there in our mind. Otherwise it will be too late.
