Do you wonder sometimes if you will be saved? If, after you die, you will go to heaven? If all you do in this life is enough for God to forgive all your sins and give you eternal life? I do think about this often. And then I think about my sins, about all those wrong things I have done in the past. I wonder what else should I do to go to heaven -- maybe pray more, give more, fast more, avoid all those temptations, confess more often, be nicer to others, forgive -- what else? Jesus gives us an answer today, He says that we will be saved if we follow two most important commandments: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Do a very simple examination of conscience today and forget everything else, but ask yourself, if in your life, do you follow those two commandments. Because if you do, Jesus is telling you: “You are not far from the Kingdom of God."
