Friday of the Twenty Sixth Week in Ordinary Time ‘a’

It is so sad that not every Catholic attends Mass on Sunday. And their excuse is that they don’t attend Mass because they don’t like the priest, or they don’t like the music, or that the Mass times are not convenient for them. They always have other activities scheduled for the same time slot. We forget how blessed we are having easy access to the sacraments and because of that, we take them very lightly. We choose other things instead of being with God. There are people in this world who are being persecuted or even killed for practicing their faith, yet they still look for an opportunity to worship, to pray, and to receive the sacraments. Jesus said: “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.” We are blessed with many mighty deeds happening in our midst, so instead of avoiding them, we need to take full advantage of what is God giving us.
