The Blessed Virgin Mary has appeared in many different places, in various times. Each time, she looked different. We call Her by different names and titles, and we have many images of her. Sometimes she even has a different color of skin and speaks in another language. This may make us think that there is more than one Mary. But she is the only one. She is our Mother, and we can always talk to her, ask her to intercede for us, to protect us. We can imagine her appearance however we want, but Mary, the Mother of God, is only one. She is the Mother of our Church -- not the building, but the Church, i.e., all of us. We are so privileged to be able to call the Mother of Christ, our Mother also. “When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, behold, your son.’ Then he said to the disciple, ‘Behold, your mother.’”
