“The Lord Jesus appointed seventy-two disciples whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit.” Why in pairs? Why not only one? I think there is a great wisdom in that strategy. Jesus knew very well that His disciple would be facing many challenges by visiting different towns and people. Some will welcome them with open arms, but some will reject them. Some may even accuse them of lying, of making things up, or may even harm them. In situations like that, it is always good to have a witness, to have someone next to you who can confirm that everything they say is true and in a moment of danger will always help. We too need someone in life that will always help us, support us, and will testify that you are an honest witness of Jesus Christ.
