There are times in life that we feel that we need to make certain changes. Perhaps move to a new house, or to a different town. Maybe it’s time to start the diet I keep talking about, to eat healthy and exercise more. Time to start a new job or a time to stop smoking or drinking. There are moments when we want to have a fresh start, a new beginning. Today Jesus tells Nicodemus that he needs to be reborn again. How can a person be reborn right? Nicodemus is puzzled as well. But Jesus is talking about a new fresh start of making changes to our souls. It is time to stop being a lukewarm Christian but truly to convert and start again. “What is born of flesh is flesh and what is born of spirit is spirit.” We need to start fresh again and renew our spirit.
