Monday of the 21 week in ordinary time ‘b’

As a priest, I can’t preach and teach about the importance of prayer but not pray myself. Or invite others to read the bible, but not open my bible at all. And this may happen to all of us in many areas of life when we correct others while we ourselves make these same mistakes. We need to be honest in what we do, and this is what Jesus wants from us, His followers, but especially from the leaders of religion. You and I know those leaders in our church who are not honest. They teach and preach but they don’t follow Jesus’ teaching. They think that they have a right to judge others when they see them make mistakes, but they are unable to see anything wrong in themselves. We need to pray for them but also for ourselves and ask Jesus to make us an honest and carrying people. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You lock the Kingdom of heaven before men. You do not enter yourselves, nor do you allow entrance to those trying to enter.”
