Monday of the 5 week of Easter, Feast of Saints Philip and James, Apostles
It is good to have some connections, good to know people, because if you know certain people you may get things you need done more easily and quicker. For example, if your car needs to be repaired and you know a good mechanic, then you would trust that he will be honest with you and will tell you what the problem is, and then fix the car but not overcharge you. Or, if you or someone in your family is sick, but you know a good doctor, you would trust this doctor with your life. Sometimes, if you know someone who has easy access to a good ticket for a game with your favorite team, then you may end up having a great seat for free or a minimal price. Today, Jesus is telling us that is good to know Him, because: “If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it.” Today, Jesus is inviting us to take advantage of knowing Him. Use that advantage and use His name, and ask for whatever you need.
