Today Jesus reminds us that He also can be found in another person, especially in the person next to us, a person who needs our assistance. I think you would agree with me that it is much easier to find God in the church, in the Holy Eucharist, in the beauty of nature, and in the scriptures. However, it is always challenging to find God in that person who is hungry, homeless, dirty, doesn’t speak my language, or even thinks differently. Perhaps during this Lenten season, we should think about Jesus who is present in the person that is rejected, neglected, lonely and poor. Jesus said: “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” And in reverse: “Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.”
