Monday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time ‘a’

I came to the United States over twenty years ago, with the idea that this will become my new home -- and it is. However, I knew that there would be many adjustments for me, like learning a new language, a new culture, learning the history and the laws of my new country. And even though I would never forget where I came from and will never forget my heritage, I became a new person. I now had to adapt and become a part of this great country. In a similar way, when you accept Jesus and His teaching, you can’t be the same person that you were before. Rather you must become a new person, a new creation. You need to learn a new language the language of love, you need to adopt the culture of forgiveness and humility, you need to learn Jesus’ teaching and begin a new and better life. “No one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins are ruined. Rather, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins.”
