Monday of the Second Week of Advent ‘a’
Whenever I read this Gospel, I am amazed by the determination of the friends of that paralytic man who, no matter what, wanted to bring their friend to Jesus so He could heal him. Since they couldn’t get close to Jesus because of the crowd that surrounded Him, they came up with the idea of lowering their friend through the roof. I am sure Jesus was surprised too. That poor man was healed because of his friends’ determination; they did not give up. Some of us were also brought to Jesus and to faith through the determination of others. Now, we ourselves need to be as determined as they were, to bring others to God and to His Church.
