No, God doesn’t expect us to be without sins. He knows how easily we slip into temptations, and then we commit all kinds of sins. But lucky for us, God is always merciful. Whenever we come to Him and beg for His mercy, He will always give it to us and forgive us our sins and trespasses. However, God being so merciful and forgiving expects the same from us. So, we too must forgive others if they have sinned against us but then ask us to be forgiven. Jesus said to his disciples: “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven.” Our God loves us and is quick in forgiving, but He will treat us in the way that we treat others. If we forgive, God will forgive us, but if we judge others, then God will judge us also in the same measure that we judged. We expect so much from our God, but we should expect the same from ourselves.
