Again, Jesus reminds His disciples that He doesn’t want our declarations of belief in Him and of our love for Him. Not the words, but actions -- this is what He expects from His disciples. Our religious practices are the tools that should enable us to act and to bring Christ to the world -this is the call of Jesus’ disciple. Unfortunately, there are some who don’t want or can’t move forward, and so they lock their Christianity just in their religious practices, prayers, and sacraments. They go to church often, go to confession, receive Holy Communion, and pray the rosary daily, but they don’t go and don’t preach what they believe. Today Jesus tells us: “Do you believe now? Behold, the hour is coming and has arrived when each of you will be scattered to his own home and you will leave me alone.” We can’t believe and love Jesus only in the walls of the church; we have to prove that love to the world, even if it becomes very difficult.
