Monday of the Tenth Week in Ordinary Time ‘a’

Why do you try to live a good moral life while everything in this world tells you that you should do whatever you want? Why do you sacrifice your time to volunteer at the food pantry, or at the shelter or your church, while others would tell you that you should always get paid for your time and work? Why do you come to church each Sunday? Why do you pray the rosary daily, come to adoration, why do you receive the sacraments while the world would try to convince you that God doesn’t exist? Why do you forgive those who hurt you while others might be telling you that those who do evil deserve the same from you? Why do you keep strong faith, despite all those terrible things going on around the world -- like wars, gun violence, death, illnesses, injustice? You do all of this because you believe deeply in your heart that one day you will be rewarded by your good and exemplary life. Jesus said: “Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.”
