We read today that “when Jesus saw a crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other shore.” Why? Because He wanted to be present to as many people as possible, to heal their wounds, to give them hope, to bring them peace, to teach them about the Kingdom of Heaven and about the Son of God, who came to them. Our Church is a missionary Church. You and I are missionaries. Often when we hear the word ‘missionary’, we think of those priests or nuns that travel to distant and remote places on the planet to tell other about Jesus and His gospel. And yes, those people are missionaries. However, we have the same mission -- not to keep God only to ourselves but bring Him with us wherever we go. Especially to those who need healing, forgiveness, peace, and love. So, “let us cross to the other shore” to bring Jesus to others.
