Monday of the Twenty Fifth Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

Jesus said: “No one who lights a lamp conceals it with a vessel or sets it under a bed; rather, he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible, and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light.” Jesus is our lamp. When you come to Jesus, you can see clearly what is going on in your soul. We can’t hide anything from Jesus. He gives us light so we can see clearly and remove whatever is wrong and sinful in ourselves. Jesus wants you and me to become lamps to this world and to the people around us. By the way we live our lives, by our good example, we shine on to others and help them to see clearly all of their imperfections. Let us pray asking God to make us His lamps that shine on to others. Let us never “conceal (our lamps) with a vessel or set it under a bed.”
