I like going back to my hometown of Krakow in Poland. I like to visit my relatives and friends, share the memories, and visit the places where I grew up -- the school I went to, the church that used to be my home parish. And each time I go back I notice that many things have changed since I left; it is no longer as it used to be. I am sure you have a similar experience when you go back to your native place. Today we read in the gospel that Jesus went back to visit His native place. Perhaps He also wanted to see His old friends and the people that He grew up with. However, that place also changed since He left them. The people changed also, and when He preaches to them, sharing the truth, they reject Him. They probably thought to themselves: who is He to tell us how to live, He grew up with us, He is no better. But He is better; He is the Son of God. And He comes back to you and me and also tells us what would be best for us. Are you able to accept His truth, or do you only accept what is convenient to you, or perhaps, just like the people from Jesus’ native place -- you reject Him?
