Monday of the Twenty Sixth Week in Ordinary Time ‘c’

Yes, it does happen even in our Church. Some just want to gain more and more power and gain more titles. Some would even take advantage of others just for their own benefit, for their own gain. But this is not what our Lord teaches us. He wants us to be humble. In the gospel reading for today, there was an argument among Jesus’ disciples -- who among them was the greatest and most important. And what did Jesus do? He pointed out a child and said: “the one who is least among all of you is the one who is the greatest.” There is nothing wrong in gaining titles and positions in this life. However, we all need to remind humble about all we have. What we do have is from our Lord, and it never makes us better than others, more significant or powerful.
