Saturday in the Octave of Easter ‘b’

A couple days ago, a friend of mine sent me a text message that said: unfortunately, Easter is over, time to go back to normal. Time to go back to normal? Don’t we all feel that way? Forty days of preparation, then the Holy Triduum, and a great celebration of Easter with good food, family and friends, and so it’s over. Time to go back to normal. Really, that’s it? No, it is not! We can’t be like Jesus’s disciples after the resurrection. We can’t be sad that it is over. We need to be filled with faith and joy of the resurrection. So, it is not over! It will never be over. Jesus is risen and we need to celebrate that. We must be filled with joy and proclaim that news to the world. “He said to them: Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.”
