Saturday of the 12 week in ordinary time ‘b’

What is interesting in the Gospel reading for today is the fact that the master really cares about his servant. The centurion made every effort to come to Jesus and to ask Him to help his servant, to heal him. Some masters, especially in those days, would probably get rid of an ill and therefore useless servant and get another one. But not that centurion. He seems to be caring equally for all human beings, and so he does everything he can in order to help his servant. There is much we can learn from this person today, especially that each human life and the wellbeing of each individual is equally important. No matter what gender, what color of their skin, their religion, position, the language they speak; none of that matters. We need to care for them with the same care and respect.
