It is important to protect our believes, to protect our religious symbols, and to protect what is holy from those who want to destroy it. Most importantly we need to protect Jesus from those who don’t want to believe in Him, but only bring Him harm. In the Gospel for today we see two kinds of people, those who wanted to kill Jesus and those who were His followers. To His followers Jesus says not to make Him known, because there are people that want Him dead. The longer Jesus stays with them, the more wonderful things He can give them. Likewise, we need to protect Jesus from those who want Him dead, from those who want Him dead in our society, our churches and our hearts. We need to keep Jesus alive; only then He will be able to continue His miraculous deeds.
