Children are children, they don’t always know how to behave. They prefer to play, run, chase each other, scream, and cry. Maybe that’s why the disciples tried to prevent them from being around Jesus. Here is the Master talking and preaching and, in the disciples’ minds, these little kids are only a distraction. But Jesus says: “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Maybe the next time you are distracted or even annoyed by little children in our church who are running, screaming, playing, or crying, you can think about what Jesus said. Jesus loves these little children and wants them around. Those children are the future of our Church.
