The disciples were terrified seeing Jesus walking towards them on the water. Try to imagine the scene from the Gospel reading today. Dark, strong winds and big waves and all of a sudden, a man is walking towards them, not only walking but walking on the water. I would be terrified too! But then Jesus says: don’t be afraid, it’s me. And from that moment, they relaxed and invited Jesus into the boat. There are storms in our lives too. We might be scared at times to the point that we may not see or not recognize Jesus’ presence in the moments of fear. But all we need to do is to hear His voice and invite Him to our boat.
