“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.”

For sure, the disciples were blessed and lucky and very privileged to be able to be so close to Jesus Christ and to be witnesses of the miracles of the Son of God. We may even feel a little envious that they were right there with Him, so privileged. But when I think about this a little deeper, I realize that I am so blessed as well, because Jesus is in our midst right now. He is present in the sacraments, he is present in the words of the Bible and He is present in other people. He left Himself to each one of us, and if we were only able to believe and realize that He is truly here with us, right now, then He will tell us also: “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I say to you, many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.”
