Saturday of the 30 week in ordinary time

One of the worst feelings is to be humiliated. I am sure that we all can recall times when we were humbled by others. I know that feeling, blushing face, some degree of anger inside, or even a ‘go and never return, never look into these people’s eyes again’ feeling. Today in the Gospel Jesus tells us what to do in order to not experience that embarrassment ever again. What is that? Simple- be humble! Well, that is obvious, someone could say. Yes, it is obvious, but think about it: a humble person can’t be humbled, a humble person can’t be humiliated. Only a proud person can be humbled and humiliated. In all situations in life, try to be humble because Jesus loves those who are humble! “For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
