What are your thoughts when you lose someone you loved? Most times we grieve, we are saddened and cry. But as Christians we also believe in the promises of our Lord who tells us that death is not the end, there is much more to come. And that brings us a sense of comfort. We also comfort each other saying things like -- don’t be sad, your loved one is in a better place now, waiting for you -- one day we all be together again. And I believe that we will, but not as we imagine, not with our bodies, our thoughts, or human limitations that we experience here. All the relationships in Heaven will be different. How different? I don’t know, but I believe that everything in Heaven will be much better than anything that we experienced in this world. The Sadducees who didn’t believe in resurrection tested Jesus asking Him: What would happen to a husband and wife after they die, and if the widow married another, in Heaven would she be married to the first or to the second husband. And Jesus said: “They can no longer die, for they are like angels; and they are the children of God because they are the ones who will rise.” We are limited to what we experience and imagine, but Heaven will be totally different -- it will be much better than anything in this world. We can’t imagine that now, but one day it will be revealed to us.
