Saturday of the Eleventh Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

It is always very sad to hear what some people will do to gain some money. They will break the law, they will take advantage of others, they will lie, they will steal and even kill for the money. For these kinds of people, the money become their ‘god’, so they end up serving and worshiping that god. But can you imagine if they would switch their love of money to a love of our God who is in Heaven? Because that’s how we should love, serve, and worship our God. We should be able to do everything our God asks us to do. He would never ask you to hurt anyone, He would never want you to commit any sin, but only to do what is good. Jesus reminds us today that “No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” We should only serve our Heavenly Father; otherwise we always be divided.
