Saturday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

Jesus came with his disciples into the house. Again the crowd gathered, making it impossible for them even to eat. When his relatives heard of this they set out to seize him, for they said- He is out of his mind.” Yes, this is all from the gospel reading for today. And I wonder, why would they say that Jesus was out of His mind? How could they say something so offensive about the Son of God. But you know what - we all do that at times, especially when He asks us to love our enemies, to forgive those who hurt us, to love even those who don’t love us, and to pray for those who persecute us. He is out of his mind, and we may think that what He wants from me is impossible to achieve.
