Saturday of the Second Week of Easter ‘b’

We all have those times in life when we face some uncertain situations. Might be some personal issues, family problems, financial instability, health issues. Those things become like large waves slowing us down from moving forward. Those kinds of waves may even force us to ask some questions, like – Why me? Why now? Why didn’t God listen to me, where is God now when I need Him the most? It reminds me about the disciples in that boat from the gospel reading today. A strong wind was blowing, it was dark, the waves were slowing them down, and they were concerned that Jesus was not with them, so they got scared. And all of a sudden, Jesus appeared to them walking on the sea and said: “It is I. Do not be afraid.” We may think that when we struggle, we are alone, that Jesus has abandoned us. But He is there, He is stronger than any waves that come our way. He tells you today “It is I. Do not be afraid.”
