Ever since our baptism, we have become Jesus’ disciples. We are now missionaries who must remind the world around us that it is time for conversion and for following God’s ways. Our call is to remind others of what is right and what is wrong, but also to remind them that God loves them and is always ready to forgive. So today, ask yourself: how do I fulfill that mission entrusted to me? Do you have courage today to bring Jesus’ teaching to your family, to the place you work or go to school? Do you have courage to always speak the truth? It is not easy because of what others may think about me. They may even reject me, not talk to me anymore. Yes, it can happen. And that’s why today we hear about John the Baptist who was beheaded because he always spoke the truth and was not afraid to say what is right and what is wrong. Let us ask this great saint to help us to become more courageous Catholics.
