Saturday of the Sixth Week of Easter

Writer's picture: Fr. KrisFr. Kris

Someone asked me once: Is it OK to say a prayer in my car while I am driving? I am busy in the morning, getting the kids ready for school and myself ready for work. So, at times, I don’t have enough time for a prayer. It is always better to find a good time and place for our prayers, where there are no distractions. However, God is everywhere and all the time, thus we can always say our prayer to Him. Today Jesus tells His disciples: “Now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.” They didn’t want Him to leave, but Jesus prepared them for that. He explained to them why it was so important that He goes. If Jesus stayed here in His human body, He would be limited only to some people, only to a certain time and place. Just like each one of us, we can’t be everywhere, because we are limited by our physical bodies. Jesus wants to be available to everyone, everywhere, and all the time. He went back to Heaven so He could be present with us, just like He was over 2000 years ago. Jesus is present to us today and everywhere; we can always talk to Him.
