Saturday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time ‘c’

Writer: Fr. KrisFr. Kris

If the money wasn’t an issue, would you rather buy a used car or a brand new one? Or would you build a brand-new house, your dream house? The answer is obvious -- if money is not an issue, we all would like to have brand-new things. You would get exactly what you want, the color, the style, the size. And besides new things don’t break easily, and most times are covered by a warranty. So, if something breaks in your new car or house, it will be replaced with new genuine parts. Today Jesus teaches us that “People do not put new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise the skins burst, the wine spills out, and the skins are ruined. Rather, they pour new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.” With Jesus we received a brand-new law, and that new law requires a brand-new way of living. If you accept Jesus, you can’t make excuses saying that we used to do this or that. Rather simply change your life for a new way.
